Kom Oshim Museum

The Kom Oshim Museum is located in Fayoum Governorate, at the entrance to the famous ancient city of Karanis. It was opened in 1974 in order to introduce the history of Fayoum. It includes some of the artifacts that were found in the area. And for the museum display scenario, it deals with various topics related to aspects of daily life and economic activities in the ancient Fayoum society, such as: agriculture, fishing, old industries, and others.

Among the most famous artifacts contained in the corners of the museum: the icon of Youssef Al-Najjar, portraits of Fayoum, a number of mummies, and pieces of papyrus that tell the customs and traditions of the residents of Fayoum Governorate throughout different ages, as well as the religions embraced by the residents of the governorate in its different eras.
