The idea of the project goes back to Tharwat Okasha, "the first minister of culture," and the sound and light show is an attractive historical show accompanied by expressive music in order to explain the antiquities of the Giza region, the story of the Sphinx, the story of the pyramid builders, and the deep roots of the ancient Egyptian civilization.
Introducing the civilization of the pharaohs and their most important achievements in various sciences, and attracting tourists of various nationalities, are the main goals behind these shows.


These shows are presented in different languages such as Arabic, English, German, French, Italian, and others.
These performances are presented in 5 archaeological sites, where are "The Pyramids of Giza, the Temple of Abu Simbel, the Temple of Karnak in Luxor, Edfu, the Temple of Philae".
the sound and light show in the pyramids area dates back to the year 1960, which was inaugurated during the era of the former president Gamal Abdel Nasser. As for the Sound and Light project in the Karnak Temple, it was inaugurated in 1972, and it is one of the largest temples in Tiba, Luxor.


As for the Sound and Light Project on Philae Island, its opening dates back to 1985, and it is a group of temples that were established during the Ptolemaic era during the era of the last Pharaonic dynasty. As for the opening date of the Sound and Light project of Abu Simbel Temple, it goes back to the year 2000, in which King Ramses II narrates the glorious victories of his armies and the story of building his temple and the temple of his wife Nefertari. The Sound and Light project was opened in Edfu Temple in 2010. The amazing movie tells the historical story of the temple, the myth of Horus (the god of Edfu) and his annual journey with Hathor (the goddess of Dendera) as well as the story of the struggle of the god Horus and his mother Isis against the forces of evil.
